Al Boudreau began studying dance in 1950 with Donald Chrichton, lead dancer on the former "Carol Burnett Show", and went on to study with Billy Austin, a Vaudeville performer, who taught dancing for more than 50 years before retiring at the age of 76.
He choreographed many musicals for St. Gabriel Church in Windsor, CT in the early 1970's along with Broadway Musicals "Carnival" for the Wilbraham Community Theater; "Guys & Dolls" with the East Longmeadow Community Theater; "Little Mary Sunshine", Sweet Charity", "Pajama Game" and "Applause" at Bay Path Junior College; and "Anything Goes" and "South Pacific" with the St. Martha Players (now known as the Opera House Players, Inc.). His dancing performances include "Carnival", "Guys & Dolls", "Little Mary Sunshine", "Mame", "Hello Dolly", "George M" and "Anything Goes". Also directed the Enfield Senior Citizens Annual Variety Shows and the Ms. Senior Connecticut Pageant for many years in conjunction with Jan Albestski from the Valley Repertory Theater Co. of Enfield as well as directing and performing in all performances of his 45 years as Owner/Director of the Al Boudreau's School of Dance.
Now Al has retired from the Studio/Recital portion of his business and this portion is merging with Riley's School of Dance, 99 Raffia Road, Enfield, CT - 860-763-0279. He will continue to teach Ballroom Dance Classes at his same Studio at 111 Hazard Avenue in Enfield, CT. Being very active with the up and coming interest in "Ballroom Dancing", in addition to teaching Ballroom Dance Classes at his Studio, he teaches Beginner Ballroom Dance Courses at Asnuntuck Community College every semester and hosts a monthly "Ballroom Dance" at the Clubhouse Cafe' at Sun Valley Camping Ground in Stafford Springs, CT.
